keeping autistic children included in regular schools

This article in the NYTimes is a thoughtful look at how inclusion can work. It’s worth a read. I’ve had an autistic child in my class almost every year for the past six, and it really is a successful model.  I love the way the other children in the article talk about Garner, the autistic boy they have grown up with.

  1. I’m heading over to read the article, Kiri, but I whole-heartedly agree. I seem to have at least one kid on the spectrum every year and I LOVE teaching them and I LOVE what they bring to class!
