MY toolbox

Okay, so I am not a crafty person.  But even a NDIY (Never Do It Yourselfer) like me can learn a few things on Pinterest.  I love the toolboxes I’ve been seeing, like this one and this one, and finally decided to do it myself.  I went to Home Depot and found the box I wanted by showing a picture from Pinterest on my cellphone to an employee, and then bought some spray paint.  I can’t remember the last time I bought spray paint, or why I would have done so.  It has probably been about 20 years.  (No!  I never did anything illegal with spray paint!  I swear!)  Then I went here to download a free printable for the labels.

The labels are as nice in real life as they are in the pictures.  While I was waiting for the spray paint to dry (and before I realized that I hadn’t used enough newspapers, and now there is a white shadow outline on my patio), I cut them out and used double-sided tape to affix them to the little drawers.  Here’s my final project:

I’m very pleased with how it turned out.  So pleased and excited that I brought it inside and put the drawers in and took the photo to post….and then realized that my office was starting to reek of paint.  Oh yeah, it’s supposed to dry over a twenty-four hour period.  Sigh.  I’m not sure how much more of this crafty stuff I can manage.  (And I haven’t even mentioned how I spray-painted a picture frame turquoise to do this or this with it, and didn’t sand it first, and almost immediately it started to form tiny bubbles in the paint.  AUGH.)
